Debt Snowball & Avalanche Calculator
Compare multiple debts using highest-rate-first or smallest-balance-first repayment.
Compare avalanche and snowball payoff
Minimum payments plus extra money rolled into the next debt
Methodology and assumptions
The total monthly budget stays fixed at the sum of entered minimum payments plus your extra payment. Each month adds interest at APR/1,200, pays each outstanding debt’s entered minimum, then allocates the remaining budget to the highest-APR balance (avalanche) or smallest remaining balance (snowball). When a debt is paid off, its payment is rolled into the remaining debts. Ties follow entry order. No new borrowing, changing minimums, fees, or changing rates are assumed. Results stop after 1,200 months; an insufficient budget displays no finite payoff estimate.
